September 27, 2015 - Super Moon Eclipse

Well it's my best attempt thus far to get anything that even resembles the moon.  I'm actually pretty pleased although I'm not entirely sure what I did.

September 15, 2015 - Prince Edward Island Pictures

Monday Morning @ 9am in Charlottetown.

It took us until the afternoon to figure out that Charlottetown is not really that sleepy of a town. Apparently, 9/7 was also Canada's version of Labor Day.

On our way to Montague.

On our way to Panmure Island we stopped to see the seals

September 11, 2015 - Day 5 Prince Edward Island

Can you hear that?  It's my legs whimpering after having completed the 62 kilometers from Montague to Rollo Bay. Technically, we could have gone further into Souris but my ass said NO!

Oh and luck continues to be on my side, I had my 2nd flat tire but it happened at our stopping point.  Really, if I'm going to get a flat there isn't a better location. Plus the guy who was driving the support vehicle swung it at the moment I was going to change the tire and her did it for me.  In about an 1/8 of the time it would have taken me.

This is really a beautiful island and the people are incredibly considerate about bicyclists.  The cars give a wide birth and people just randomly wave and give you a thumbs up (OK fine the thumbs up only happened 1x).  Sure, I guess it's possible that people are waving more as an acknowledgment that this group of women on bicycles in the rain are insane.

Tomorrow we ride to St. Peters.

September 9, 2015 - Prince Edward Island Day 3

Montague to Panmure Island with a side stop at St. Andrews Point
Have I  failed to mention this is a bicycle tour organized by Woman's Tours? Well it is.  This is only the 2nd tour L and I have gone on and I can easily foresee us doing others with them.   Anyway onto our regularly scheduled content.

We rode a total of 59 kilometers today.  Some of that was because L and I missed a turn to go to St. Andrews Point and had to backtrack.  It was an optional stop but we wanted to check it out because Cy and Jackie (the guides) said there were seals in that area.  Turns out there were more than a few.  What do you call a mob of seals? A pack? A pod? Whatever, there were a lot of them and I managed to get some really good shots which I'll post next week when we get home.  The extra miles were made all the more worth it when we requests Cy do her seal imitation.  She let loose with a guttural honk-like nose and don't you know it sounded like the seals called back.

Then we headed to Panmure Island.  Now I admit there was some groaning and bashing of teeth as L & I made our way there through a headwind that I am sure was only in existence to torment us.  Just to clarify, the complaining etc, is in fact part of the fun. If it were ridiculously easy how could we give ourselves an "atta girl" for surviving another day. Well that and the chocolate ice cream shake we had at lunch as a preemptive reward.  I don't even feel remotely guilty about that or anything else I eat this week.  I'm pretty sure this is the only vacation I will go on were I have fun, eat what I want, and still lose weight.

The country side is just beautiful.  Yes, pictures will come.  Now I believe I'm going to take a nap.

September 7, 2015 - Day 1 of PEI Bike Tour

We'll have to wait for photo content because I can't upload those yet.  Anyway, L and I drove into Prince Edward Island yesterday and the 1st sign of panic hit when we got to the Confederation Toll Bridge.  The toll $45 for a car. Yikes.  Fortunately, we aren't required to pay it until we leave the island but it sure as heck took a few years off my life.  Neither of us were carrying any Canadian dollars and I envisioned a line of cars behind us as we tried to talk our way through the toll.  One disaster averted.

Today, we met up with the rest of the the women on the bike tour and took a brief ride to check out the bikes and make sure everyone was comfortable. L and I did the loop 2x the second time was because 3/4 of the way through the 1st trip I discovered I lost my Rx glasses.  How could I have not noticed such a thing? I was wearing my Rx Sunglasses at the time.  No luck finding the lost pair and I am sure I will make do, it's just a PIA.

Onto upbeat news, its beautiful in Charlottetown and the people seem extremely nice.  Tomorrow we head to Montague and I am hoping to snap lots of pictures on this adventure.
